Blue Diesel Cannabis Strain: Blueberry & NYC Diesel

Earlier this year, we reviewed a couple of different strains that have Diesel as a stable base for creating new, excellent hybrids.Some of these more popular marijuana strains include Sour Diesel, Lemon Diesel, Purple Diesel, and Strawberry Diesel, which placed first on the top 5 wake and bake strains of 2012 list.

Of course, there are lots of other strains stemming from the Diesel plant as well, such as Grapefruit Diesel, Red Diesel, Chiesel, and many, many more (we have yet to review).

Just as you would expect from a name like Blue Diesel, the genetics are directly related to the mixing of Blueberry (Indica-dominant Hybrid) and NYC Diesel (Sativa-dominant Hybrid).

How Will The Blue Diesel Strain Of Cannabis Affect Me?

If you have encountered the Blueberry strain before, you probably are already familiar with its Indica dominance. Blueberry is typically considered as roughly 80% Indica and only 20% Sativa. Its noticeable body effect can definitely be found in Blue Diesel as well.

The smell of this batch of Blue Diesel was most similar to Blue Dream, with a bit more earthy undertones. It’s not the most berry flavor you will experience, but this strain definitely has a memorable terpene profile – sweet and floral.Visually, the buds have fantastic trichome coverage, hidden somewhat by its thick, tan hairs.

Although this batch was somewhat squished, its condensed structure housed nothing but great medicine. Each hit of Blue Diesel comes with smooth, expansive smoke that seems to be extremely fast-acting. One of my favorite strains to medicate with during the day, as it provides full-bodied medicine that wont leave me exhausted.
