Sour Grape: Sour Diesel x Granddaddy Purp

Sour Grape is the cross of one of the best nighttime Indica, Granddaddy Purp, with one of the most widely smoked Sativa strains of all time, Sour Diesel.

Granddaddy Purp fans are in for a treat with this one! Like GDP, these flowers were chunky and irregular, but rather than a deep shade of purple, they were light green and absolutely covered with a thick veil of frosty trichromes. Definitely some of the prettiest buds I’ve seen since some of the Girl Scout Cookies we had in San Diego a while back.

The scent of Sour Grape was a very complex blend of a grapes, jasmine, and earthy undertones that become more fuel-like after grinding up the flowers. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to taste it after I got this far.

The vapor produced by our Vapir Rise Vaporizer was some of the most tasty, dense vapor I have experienced with any strain, even at lower temperatures around 350°F (one pack was good for 4-5 fills of the bag, tons of THC). The flavor of grapes was overwhelming out of the balloon; it almost reminded me of the grape cough syrup I used to hate when I was a child.

Medicating with this strain during the day enhanced my mood significantly and the high was super clean. A clear-headed high was coupled by a numbing body buzz that immobilizes you if you are in a comfy position; this can be attributed to the GDP genetics. The full-bodied buzz was extremely relaxing and lasted for about two hours after vaporizing.

Although GDP is known to make patients extremely tired, I found that the Sour Diesel genetics counter balance the sedative effects; the Sour Grape strain didn’t make me tired at all at low doses. However, I did find that this strain does have the ability to become quite heavy after two to three balloons. Sour Grape tends to give you a very enjoyable couch-lock sensation at higher vaporizing temperatures and dosages.

If you are lucky enough to stumble upon a proper cut of this wonderful hybrid, be sure to pick up an extra dose; this unique strain doesn’t come around often!
