When smoking cannabis, being subtle about your usage in public places can be problematic — especially if you live in an area that still has stringent laws against the use of cannabis. When you travel away from home, this issue intensifies tenfold.

Suffering from lyme disease, I consume cannabis just to eat, sleep, and get through the nerve pain each and every day. The smoke silencer by Snubbz is a device that allows you to enjoy an odorless, smokeless, stress-free session. It comes with a ‘cherry topper’ attachment that you hold down tightly to the bowl for ten seconds after each hit to cover the smoke from being released.

You then exhale into the Snubbz smoke silencer pouch, which acts as a filter releasing only clean air. Your biggest issue will be making sure that you have a place to put things down and pick them up during your process. You are holding a packed bowl, a lighting mechanism, the pouch, and the cherry topper. It may be wise to do this sitting in front of a desk and to plan for a moment before beginning, depending on how discreet you wish to be.

Smoke is stealthy and you’ll have to do your part by properly placing the cherry topper over the entire open spoon, clearing the bowl before setting it down so it doesn’t sneak out the carb or mouthpiece, and carefully closing your lips around the mouthpiece of the pouch to ensure no smoke seeping out the corner of your mouth into the room. You then lift off the ‘cherry topper’ inhaling any remaining smoke and exhale out into the Snubbz pouch. I noticed the tiniest bits of smoke escape out the carb cap and a little out the sides of my mouth my first attempt, but the guest I was sharing the room with didn’t take notice at any part of our stay.

My Experience With The Snubbz Smoke Silencer

The Snubbz pouch is estimated to hold approximately 200 hits depending the size of your exhalations. The cherry topper is formulated to withstand heat up to 450 degrees F, leaving you no worries about melting silicone to the top of your bowl. The cherry topper can be cleaned with alcohol and Q-tips to remove any residue. No remnants of any cannabis leaves you free and clear to travel at ease.

For those who want maximum discreetness, the Snubbz team includes stickers for you to cover the front and back sides of the smoke silencer’s pouch. Once the pack becomes difficult to exhale into, it’s time for a new pouch. I used it during my whole trip and it’s still going strong!

The customs agents did ask me what the Snubbz was on my way into Canada, but they didn’t confiscate it or interrogate me further.
