As a retired social worker and former LCSW, I have opted to spend my golden years following my interests and getting involved in various progressive social causes, of which cannabis legalization, both medical and recreational, is one. I seek out information frequently on research into medical marijuana as well as more general research into potentially negative side effects of long-term cannabis use. I use what I learn to provide informal education to the many in my social network who are uncertain about the likely effects of legalization. I have always been a “teacher at heart” and teaching about cannabis seems a good way to use my many decades of reading, researching, and learning on the subject. I have medicated since 1975 when, during my first year in graduate school, I noticed that cannabis helped me to focus/concentrate.
