Phantom OG Helps Battle Anxiety & Insomnia

Phantom OG Hybrid (what's this?)

At first, I assumed that most OG strains were very similar, with only tiny genetic differences separating each of them. However, I have done a complete 180° in the past few months. After experiencing delicacies like this Phantom OG from Freedom Farmers, I have begun to realize that OG strains are far more complex than I had first assumed. It is obvious to me now, that each OG phenotype is unique and should be treated as such. It would simply be incorrect to group all the OG strains out there into a category and treat them all the same.

“This particular phenotype of OG was extremely impressive, flaunting long beautiful red hairs that would make even Carrot Top jealous.”

After only trying a few of the real knock-outs like Tahoe OG and Skywalker OG, it was clear to me that most OG strains are on the heavier side and tend to make me too stoned and/or tired to smoke during the day when I was trying to be productive. Instead, I prefer to stick to clean head highs provided by sativa-only strains like Cherry-AK and/or Green Crack.

This statement definitely holds true when medicating with Phantom OG, as its heavy effects will most likely translate into slowed time in a zoned-out state. This makes the Phantom OG strain great for patients dealing with anxiety, PTSD, or insomnia.

The small popcorn-sized nugs were covered in sticky resin, and their sugary, lemon-pine scent could be detected a few seats over. After putting Phantom OG in the grinder, a minty scent came forward as well that reminded me of some Girl Scout Cookies we have reviewed in the past. The smoke was very smooth and tasted like a mixture of lemons and pine, very similar to the smell. Phantom OG also has a spicy flavor that is more apparent when vaporizing the flowers. The taste coats your palate and lingers for quite some time.

As With Most OG Strains, The Exact Genetics Are Unknown

While the definite genetics of Phantom OG are unknown (as with most OG’s), the strain is generally thought to stem from what is known as the “Planetary Line”. Although Freedom Farmers lists this strain as an Indica, we believe that it is most definitely a hybrid. In fact, this particular phenotype may be near 50/50 judging by the immediate head effects that settle in directly behind your eyes. Your face melts, and a cloudy cerebral high takes over that seems to be never-ending.

“I noticed a strong mental stupor set in, and before I knew it I was lost in The Lord of The Rings...”

Now, if I had just smoked one bowl of this Phantom OG, I probably would have finished this strain review in no time at all. However, after a second bowl I felt my body slowly melting into the couch and becoming extremely heavy.

The Phantom OG strain is amazing for full body relaxation and pain relief; my lower-back pain melted away immediately after I kicked my shoes off to lay back. At the same time, it is extremely uplifting and would probably be great for treating anxiety and depression. An extremely potent strain, we even saw it online with some WARNING labels on the bottles. The effects last for up to three hours before beginning to wear off (seriously incredible), leaving you yawning and ready for bed. The Phantom OG strain may also have you reaching for a late night bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Let it happen. When is that ever a bad choice?
