A member of the Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) family, the Monster Cookies strain is considered an Indica-dominant hybrid. It is often recognized for it’s soothing, relaxing effects, combined with shades of the classic GSC taste.
Monster Cookies Strain: Girl Scout Cookies X Grand Daddy Purple
It’s no secret that the Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) strain has gained a great deal of popularity in recent years. Much like OG Kush, it can be difficult to know the exact lineage of each member of the GSC family.
Sure enough, the Monster Cookies strain has a somewhat murky genetic lineage. I’ve heard suggestions that it is simply a phenotype of the original Girl Scout Cookies strain. Of course, this is a distinct possibility considering that there are plenty of GSC phenotypes floating around (the Thin Mints cut, the Forum cut, etc.)
However, I’ve also been told that the Monster Cookies strain was the result if crossing the Girl Scout Cookies and Grand DaddyPurple strains. Judging from the characteristics of this batch of Monster Cookies, I would have to agree.
How Will The Monster Cookies Strain Affect Me?
This batch of Monster Cookies had noticeably more purple than you will find in most examples of Girl Scout Cookies. Still, the dense bud structure and gassy aroma told me the apple didn’t fall too far from the GSC tree.

The effects I experienced with the Monster Cookies strain were a bit heavier on the body than you would expect from the Girl Scout Cookies strain also.
Of course, this is likely due to the influence of the Grand Daddy Purple strain, which is often applauded for the intense pain relief it provides.
Typically, I reach for the Girl Scout Cookies strain whenever I am in search of mid-day stress relief and relaxation. This batch of Monster Cookies, on the other hand, was more suitable for my needs when medicating in the evening. It helped relieve any slight muscle tension, and was a great way to battle insomnia.
Although it was not my favorite member of the Girl Scout Cookies family, I would consider the Monster Cookies strain to be a good option for those with minor aches and pains, as well as chronic stress relief.
