The Dr. Dabber Ghost Pen Vaporizer comes with a very detailed manual (w/ warranty card), a stainless steel loading tool, a USB charger, a “Shatterproof” silicon ball for the mess-free storage of concentrates, and of course, the pen itself (lithium ion battery & Ghost Attachment).

What is the Dr. Dabber Ghost Vape?

The Dr. Dabber Ghost Vape Pen is a great portable vaporizer, but what initially stood out for me was the packaging and branding throughout the entire product.

When I opened the box from Dr. Dabber, I immediately noticed how clean and professional everything looked and felt. From the branded silicon ball to the small engraving of the Dr. Dabber logo at the end of the battery, I was really impressed by the attention to detail. Even the button to activate the heater has the logo on it!

Aside from the actual pen, the professionalism of Dr. Dabber extends beyond the design and branding to their customer service. When reached through the contact page on their website, Dr. Dabber is extremely responsive and helpful.

The Difference Lies In The Receded Coil Atomizer

Although the Ghost Vaporizer Pen may look familiar (very similar design to the Micro VAPED and V8portek Split Shot), Dr. Dabber has modified the heating chamber to make the coil sits closer to the bottom of the chamber. This allows oily concentrates to be heated properly that would typically drip down and collect in other pen vaporizers (very hard to clean out).

You can always soak the entire cartridge in isopropyl alcohol in order to clean any remaining residue. Don’t worry; the coating will not come off because of the alcohol. Regular cleaning will allow you to extend the life of the coils – which is typically anywhere between 6-12 weeks – and allows you to keep your flavors from mixing.

Dr. Dabber also informed us that instead of using nichrome for the heating coil, they have upgraded to the more durable titanium coils in order to preserve the full flavor of your concentrates. This was a huge plus for us!

As you probably know by now, the quality of materials used in and around the vapor path is vital to the healthiness and overall safety of the product. Dr. Dabber informed us that the wick is made of glass fibers, and none of the other materials used in the pen should be of any concern.

As far as vapor quality goes, this pen is about on par with the Micro Vaped or the V8portek Split Shot. The Ghost Vape Pen produces large clouds of vapor and burns a bit hot when you hold down the coil for the full 10-second cycle (as with most vaporizer pens). This could be an issue for some patients with throat and lung complications.

Our Complaints About The Dr. Dabber Ghost Pen Vaporizer

• Vapor gets a bit hot when heater is engaged for the full 10-second cycle
• Although it’s not a huge issue, we’d like to see a stainless steel mouthpiece instead of the high-grade plastic.
• The accessories could be cheaper – $20 for one extra atomizer or $35 for a globe attachment with one atomizer is a bit expensive.

Our Final Thoughts On The Dr. Dabber Ghost Vape

Overall, the Dr. Dabber Ghost Pen Vaporizer is a great product. However, if I already owned the Micro Vaped or the Split ShotI wouldn’t want to purchase the whole kit just for a unique atomizer. In that case, I would just purchase an individual atomizer from Dr. Dabber for $20, or the whole top (mouthpiece, cone, and atomizer) for $35. Also available on the Dr. Dabber website is a globe attachment that is sold separately for $35.

However, if I was looking to make my first pen vaporizer purchase, the Dr. Dabber is a great kit to start with. It is extremely easy to load and use, and the handy little Shatterproof ball for your concentrates is just icing on the cake.
