Biography

Fred Gardner is the Founder and Publisher of O’Shaughnessy’s, the journal of cannabis in clinical practice. His work with the publication led to Gardner co-founding Project CBD alongside fellow writer Martin A. Lee in 2010.

Gardner recieved his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in 1963. Four years later, he went on to start a coffeehouse in Columbia, South Carolina that became a hangout for GIs.

In turn, Gardner covered the court martial off 27 GIs charged with mutiny at the Presidio of San Francisco in 1968. He published The Unlawful Concert, a book about the case, in 1970.

Founded by Martin A. Lee and Fred Gardner in 2010, Project CBD is a non-profit organization based in Northern California. It exists to defend and promote whole-plant cannabis treatments. Project CBD promotes and publicizes research about the benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) and the rest of the phytocannabinoids. In turn, they update doctors and patients of developments in cannabinoid science. Furthermore, the Project CBD website maintains a list of dispensaries and caregivers that maintain a selection of CBD-rich cannabis strains.
