Las Vegas Convention Center Hosts 30th Edition Of The Champs Trade Show

LAS VEGAS, NV — In what will be the second leg of a busy week for cannabis industry professionals and glass artists alike, the Las Vegas Convention Center is set to host one the industry’s premier business-to-business (B2B) trades shows.

Founded in 1999, Champs Trade Shows has earned a representation as the go-to event for those attempting to build lasting relationships in the cannabis and glass industries. It provides a venue for the leading ancillary businesses to cross paths with retail store owners, material suppliers, and more.

In the 15 years since its inception, Champs has become so popular that there are four events held each year. Two shows are held in Las Vegas, in addition to stops in Atlantic City, NJ and Denver, CO.

As is the case with the American Glass Exposition, the Champs Trade Show is not open to the general public. There is no admission charge, but one must provide two forms of business ID to be granted entry.

Champs Trade Show: A B2B Convention With A Slight Twist

A large part of what has made Champs Trade Shows so popular throughout the cannabis and glass art industries is the event’s professional appeal. It provides retail buyers with the perfect environment to scope out the best new products on the market.

“The Champs Trade Shows ArtiZen section highlights the work of non-functional glass artists.”

The convention center floor is filled with a wide number of exhibitors, spaced appropriately so as to limit foot traffic. In addition to the inevitable sea of cutting-edge ancillary products and functional glass, the Champs Trade Show recently added a designated section for those in search of non-functional glass art.

Glass Games: Artists Compete For Over $50,000 In Cash, Prizes

Despite attractions noted above, the cannabis and glass art community has grown to love the Champs Trade Show for one thing in particular – the Glass Games (aka Champs Flame-Off). It is an international glass blowing competition that brings together some of the best artists in the world.

“Whether working solo or collaboratively, artists compete in a number of timed competitions to create the best glass art possible.”

Each Glass Games competition is centered around live glass blowing. Whether working solo or collaboratively, artists compete in a number of timed competitions to create the best glass art possible.

With that said, there is often at least one category centered around the best “blind” collaboration, in which the artists have never worked together in the past. The winners of each Glass Games category are compensated handsomely, receiving more than $50,000 in cash and prizes total.

The 30th edition of the Champs Trade Show will hit be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center January 21-23. That being said, it will be sandwiched between two more industry-specific events.

Scheduled for January 19-21, the American Glass Expo will set the table for Champs. It will then be followed by the ArcView Investor Network’s first pitch meeting of 2014.
